Christopher Shannon A/W13 || Boys by Girls

Our favourite photographer and Boys by Girls editor-in-chef Cecilie Harris never fails to disappoint with her men's fashion week reportage, and this year was no exception. Delivering yet another exciting series of candid photos and portraits of our boys from the backstage at Christopher Shannon, we simply can't help ourselves but feel entirely enticed by the stream of enviable beauty from these photographs!

The Boys by Girls show reportage also includes a couple of interviews with Ben and Matthew:

Ben Horsfield

What do you think of the collection this year?
Ben: I think it's really good as well. Chris' stuff is cool. You get shows where you wear stuff you wouldn't normally wear, but most of Chris' stuff I'd wear myself.

That's a great compliment to the designer.
Ben: Yeah. It's really good.

Are you looking forward to the show today?
Ben: Yes. The Christopher Shannon shows are always good.

So you've been doing a lot of catwalk shows, have you got any catwalk tips?
Ben: I think the best thing to do is not look at anyone, just keep your eyes focused above everyone's head. If you look at people it makes you more nervous.

Matthew Bell

Boys by Girls: Could you tell us a bit about the Christopher Shannon AW13 collection from the Matthew Bell perspective?
Matthew: I haven't properly seen all the collection yet, although the clothing that I tried on looked super cool. I love the shoes in particular, they are so cool! I've also got a cool black shirt with a with a nice pullover jumper with black, white and blue panels. And also these grey trousers.

If there was one item you could steal from the show what would it be?
Matthew: Definitely the shoes.

Are you excited about the show today?
Matthew: Yes I am, it should be cool. I have not yet done a show at this location before either, and the lighting looks really cool.

Our new fabulous model Conor Doherty is doing his first official menswear show season since winning Elite Model Look 2012 (Conor already walked for Richard Nicoll SS13 and Topman SS13 back in September during London Fashion Week).
He is defiantly showing us all that he is a star in the making, as he walked for SIX shows so far.
Looking like a true supermodel, designers Richard Nicoll, Christopher Shannon, Topman DesignJames Long, and Johnathan Anderson chose him to walk the runway, and Qasimi used him in a presentation.

The London Collections: Menswear shows also saw the rise of two fellow Elite Model Look finalists, Mark Saunders and Daniel Stowe. Mark absolutely nailed it on the catwalk for Lou Dalton and Shaun Samson, while Daniel looked every inch of a male supermodel at Christopher Shannon and indulged in an afternoon of wearing quirky peroxide wigs at Kit Neale for Fashion East presentation!

And of course, we simply couldn't leave out our 2011 Elite Model Look winner Matthew Bell, who definitely dominated all major catwalks this menswear show season! Okay, so he may have had a year and a bit's worth of practice in the modelling field than the 2012 boys, but nevertheless, that still doesn't overshadow the fact that Matthew walked for SIX shows this season: Lee Roach, Hackett London, Christopher Shannon, Xander Zhou, Baartmans and Siegel (presentation) and the mother of all shows - Alexander McQueen

This season we also saw the appearance of 2012 EML finalist Grace Anderson, who totally killed it on the runway last London Fashion Week in September, and this time it was no exception! She walked among our boys for Christopher Shannon, and totally stole the entire show! We cannot express how excited we are for her for the upcoming fashion week in February... Watch this space!!!

A humongous well done to all the boys (and the lovely Grace) - everyone did amazingly well and totally exceeded all our expectations! That said - go on, we dare you to say that Elite Model Look doesn't produce supermodels!!!
