On the Day 2 of Elite Model Look bootcamp our 24 aspiring models made a trip to a lived-in model apartment to meet model & naturopathic physician Sybille Gebhardt to discuss those all-important healthy habits for models and indulge in some much nutritious and easy-to-make meals, also supported by a step-by-step cookery class.
With 15 years of experience in modelling, Sybille provided advice on nutrition, health and fitness to our Elite Model Look finalists in order for them to achieve their full potential and enjoy profitable careers. As an industry insider, Sybille’s modelling career has enabled her to come to a clear understanding of the healthcare needs of fashion models, as well as being able to respond to those needs effectively as the advice she provides is informed from a health sciences perspective.
Some of the sampled recipes included ‘miso soup’, ‘sweet potato with feta cheese’, ‘quinoa’, ‘lentil salad’ tailor-made to complement models' healthy and varied diet, as well as a variety of delicious yoghurts and smoothies with ample health benefits to support their natural digestive system. Whilst the boys and girls were given the opportunity to try out a vast variety of super-healthy (and surprisingly tasty!) meals, Sybille also discoursed useful information about the health benefits of each of the ingredients, as well as discussing alternative and healthier substitutes for commonly used foods with no nutritional values such as dairy products.
After savouring super-nutritious meals prepared by Sybille, she then discussed other means which embody models’ wellness maintained by not just a proper diet but also exercise, habits and the use of naturopathic tools, such as dry skin brushing and Epsom salt baths. Covering each method in step-by-step instructions, our models were fully informed about ways to effectively keeping fit and healthy, which is essential for a successful modelling career.
And finally, to help our Elite Model Look finalists successfully put everything they learned into practice, goodie-bags containing Solgar skin brushes, omega oils & food supplements, as well as revitalising tea selection by Teapigs and many other useful treats were provided with an aim to optimise their health and general well-being.
