Savannah Hall
Savannah Hall is the girl everyone wants. Now part of Elite London’s ‘new face’s’ Savannah is one of the most successful candidates to come out of the Elite Model Look 2012 competition as a runner-up. Scouted online at just 17 years old, Savannah has modelled for clothing company ASOS, Dazed and Confused magazine and more. 2013 is Savannahs first London Fashion Week and she has already managed to create an impressive catwalk archive.
London Fashion Week is “crazy, stressful and exciting” says Savannah, “today’s scheduled shows, Simone Rocha and Mioka have definitely been the highlight for me so far, shows are a big thing for me”.
Now I guess we have all learnt the secret to impress the casting panel from our other new faces Maddie, Zoe and Mariah and Savannah agrees that “trying to be yourself as much as possible” is the way to be booked for a big show. Personality is one of the main points Elite London believes in when it comes to castings. “Sometimes you can tell when the casting panel aren’t into you, but they just try to be nice about it!”
Elite London models have caught spectator’s eyes across the catwalk and this year’s AW13 collections at fashion week have consisted of a collage of bold colours, bright outfits and fitted figure hugging styles, with a variety of girls to display the artistic work of this season’s biggest designers. “My favourite outfit to model was at the first show I did, it was at the Love and Siga show” states Savannah, “It was a white suit and it was really nice and smart, it fitted me well.”
Securing shows are an important part of London Fashion Week for models, and every model has a dream show that they would ideally like to be casted for. “I’d absolutely love to model for a Topshop show, I think everyone wants to do it. I think you have to be pretty special to get that show though.” But who says you’re not special Savannah?! Elite certainly think you are.
The amount of times a model will visit the hair and makeup seat is more than you can count on two hands and the looks created to suit each outfit are all different. Backstage at the Constance Perez show, set in a warehouse near Tower Bridge, Savannah came to visit us with a tyre track on her face and extreme back brushed hair. “When we did Constance Perez I didn’t like the extreme make-up too much. I like natural make-up looks. My hair was so hard to get out and it felt so damaged.”
So how did you get it out in the end?!
“Me and my other model friend Becca had to use forks to pull it out, it was a nightmare!”
Forks aren’t something we can imagine using on our hair!
LFW Loves: “The shows are the best bit, getting hair and makeup done too”
LFW Hates: It’s so tiring and I have to agree with Maddie about the tube during rush hour!”
With London Fashion Week coming to a close, and Somerset House shutting their doors for another season, the Elite family return to their beds and home-towns for a long needed sleep, just in time to start preparing for the next one! Watch this space.
