Model Moment | Zoe Colvias

Zoe Colvias

Scouted at just 13, walking along a high street, Canadian-born Zoe Colvias has taken London Fashion Week by storm. After previously modelling for Milan and New York fashion week, Zoe has already been snapped up to model for Manchester designer Henry Holland, showcasing his AW 13 collection. Alongside this, Zoe has been to castings for Mulberry, Christopher Kane and Topshop impressing the panel with her confident and mature personality.

Being away from her home-town, Canada may seem like a daunting prospect for a 16 year old model, especially in a city as big as London. Thousands of people flock to London Fashion Week and Elite models are on constant call, as well as being photographed and interviewed at every opportunity. When asked how she was finding her London Fashion week experience in comparison to Milan and New York fashion week, Zoe said:

“It’s very fun, it’s very busy and very hectic schedules but its good and I like to be able to see London a bit. Doing shows here is really fun too.”

Aside from the long days and numerous castings, Zoe was given the chance to wear one of Henry Holland’s most eye popping outfits. Bursting with bright orange and blue colours and a fur hood bigger than her head attached, Zoe stood out along the catwalk and proved the reason why she is a valued member of the Elite family. Talking about her fashion week dislikes, Zoe stated sometimes the late finishes are hard to handle:

“There isn’t really anything I dislike about fashion week, sometimes the late nights are hard to catch up on sleep but every aspect is fun, especially rushing around and meeting new people. Going to new places is all good experience too.”

Sleep, water and healthy eating are important when it comes to fashion week and energy levels must be kept high to prepare for hair, makeup and the final show. Every Elite model has a selection of personal essentials they carry on hand during casting calls and show schedules. Here’s Zoe’s:

“Makeup wipes, in soles for our shoes, band aids, shoes, sleep, food, lots of snack bars and fruit to keep me energised water. Other than that we have our book and that’s it.”

Zoe has only just started to outshine amongst the London Fashion Week crowd and the year 2013 is set to look bigger and better.
